Being a wife, a mother of 5-year old twins, and an entrepreneur can be A LOT to manage. I own an interior design firm, a paint studio, three boutique hair salons, and a company that sells extensions. Busy is an understatement! My wheels are always turning - there's no snooze button on this brain of mine! The crazy thing is, I wouldn’t change a thing. As the granddaughter of farmers who ran their own business in a time when that was unheard of for African Americans; resilience and entrepreneurship run through my veins.
My first love and passion is interior design. I started my interior design firm in 2002 with no office space, no staff, and no money - just some priceless creativity. That creativity open doors for me, and since then I have been on a designing crusade. My work has been seen highlighted through national media venues such as HGTV, Washington Spaces, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Black Enterprise, Vibe Vixen, Pynk Magazine, SET Magazine among others. The common threads in all of of my business ventures is grit, sacrifice and hard work. Not many can understand my work ethic and my drive - I’ve lost and gained both employees and friends on this journey. It's definitely been a ride! Now, I am trying to find a balance between work and life. I invite you to come along on the journey.
Here, you will find my take on living EPICly. You'll see the creative side of me and snag a few design ideas, but you'll also get a glimpse into my personal life as I explore parenthood, travel, fitness, and personal growth. I hope you find my postings useful - take what you need - and please, leave me a line or two in the comments and let me know what you think!
Everyday is an adventure for me, and this blog marks the start of a new one for me! I'm excited about what the future has in store for me. I’ve made many detours, got lost along the way, but I’ve never been anywhere where GRACE couldn’t find me.
What's next for me? You'll have to follow the blog to see what I have in my back pocket!
